Footy School & Stopsley Sharks F.C.

Planning for our football return!

6th March 2021

We are now planning sessions for different age groups for when lockdown is lifted.

It's currently looking like from the end of March that our Stopsley Sharks teams will be able to return-subject to further confirmation. Matches will follow shortly after.

As it's the Easter holidays when football returns the likelihood will be we start additional training groups from around the middle of April. More information to follow very soon on that also.

By 21st June (in line with government and FA guidance and confirmation etc) we will be able to offer all football options we have including indoor football and Futsal.

Fees: FOOTY SCHOOL payment is paid in advance for termly periods and works out approximately £5 per week per player. Payment is for attending 1 training session weekly. Like club memberships, swimming enrolments etc the amount is the same regardless of the amount of sessions attended by the player. Paying week by week is not an option as managing class sizes isn't possible with week to week payment.

Footy School is there for fun and your childs football development, no matter level.

Should your child wish to play matches after training with Footy School, our affiliated club, Stopsley Sharks FC is a great option for you. Teams start from Under 7s.

Once we get enough interest from our age groups to create a new team we then enroll them to matches and the league we play in. Matches are Saturday mornings.

If playing for Stopsley Sharks FC payment is £22 monthly plus an annual £10 registration fee. A training jacket and training shirt also need to be purchased.

Match day kit is provided at no cost.

TEAMS BOYS & GIRLS: New u7, u8 and u9 teams for the 21/22 season. Limited spaces for u10, u11 and u12 teams although additional teams will be created while training with us at Footy School if we have enough to create new teams.

A NEW GIRLS training group for ages 11-14 is starting in April and teams will be developed throughout the year from this group also.

Latest News on sessions and developments coming soon

w.c. 22nd June 2020

All,

We hope you are all still well and keeping as healthy and active as possible while  staying alert and social distancing.

We have recently commenced training for our club, Stopsley Sharks FC. It's great for the teams to be back, albeit in difficult circumstances.

We are following the strict guidelines set out by the government and FA and will update all regarding further developments when they happen.

Footy School sessions for Wednesday's and Saturday's are still under review and we are currently in a position of waiting for indoor facilities to re-open. The likely opportunity to re-commence will be from September. Again, we will update you further when we know more.

Thursdays (6-7pm, ages 7-11)  will re-commence hopefully prior to September, once we know numbers wishing to attend and have the correct coaches/session plans in place. We will update you in early July with our plans for this. Many thanks.

Thanks.

Payment Information for 2020

3rd December 2019

All,

With 2020 around the corner we wanted to communicate how payments will be working from January.

Below info is broken down in to 2 sections.

1) Payment for club players (that play matches for Stopsley Sharks F.C.)

2) Payment for players that train/attend skills classes with Footy School and are not yet playing matches with a team.

1. Players for Stopsley Sharks F.C.

Monthly payment is increasing from £20 per month to £22 per month. Payment is required in the first week of the calendar month please (for the current month ahead).

While price increases are never ideal, it's essential to review pricing from time to time and we believe it's a small increase for the training and match options available for our club players every week.

If payment isn't received in the first week of the calendar month, our club treasurer will get in contact directly to the parents of the player to ask for payment to allow the player continue playing for Stopsley Sharks F.C. If payment isn't made then unfortunately your child cannot attend sessions or matches.

Many thanks for your support. Any questions please contact us.

*Please note the monthly payment is the same regardless of the amount of sessions/matches that are attended in the month by the player.

2. Players attending training/skill classes at Footy School only.

Payment is increasing from £18 a month to £20 per month for attending one of our training sessions every week. This averages at still only £4.62 per weekly session across the year.

Monthly payment is required in the first week of the calendar month please (for the current month ahead).

If payment isn't made on time (within the first week of the month) then unfortunately your child cannot attend further sessions.

*Please note the monthly payment is the same regardless of the amount of sessions attended in the month.

The easiest way to make payment is to set up a standing order with your bank for a date around the beginning of the month. Then it's all done automatically. Any questions please get in contact. Many thanks.

Latest News and info for May & June

May, 7th 2019

Hi all,

As you know, we’ve come a long way in a short period of time, successfully entering our first Stopsley Sharks team to the Chiltern Junior Sevens league-the u8 squad- with some extremely encouraging performances. Numbers have increased with our Footy School&Sharks training/matches and it’s great to see all the children have fun and develop their football skills!

Date to remember-On Saturday June 15th we are planning to have an awards/fun day for all players and their families involved with Footy School and Stopsley Sharks FC.

Whether you’re training once a week, twice a week, or in addition to that playing matches, you’re all invited to come and have a fun afternoon out with us!

We plan to have lots going on, including mini matches for the kids-and parents! Including fun games, food and refreshments. Full details of times/location etc will be out on our WhatsApp group in the near future, so please save the date.

We also wish to recognise all involved with Footy School and Stopsley Sharks F.C. with an awards section in the afternoon for all the children's great efforts this season!

We’re going to have registration packs available on the day for players wishing to play matches in the 2019/20 season. (The season normally starts around the end of August/beginning of September). However, due to high demand we will be limited to squad numbers of 9 or 10 players.

Please remember we are growing as a club but need to do this at a manageable pace. After our initial phase of registrations in June we will have friendly matches before the start of the season and have other opportunities during the season to review additional teams should we have the interest and support in place. This is something we will continually review and update you with.

In the weeks ahead we have a number of things going on that mean there is a much smaller schedule than usual. It’s normal for most clubs/football schools to have an end of season break and we plan to do the same. In this period we are working on attracting further players and looking to support the coaching staff with additional coaches, while existing members of Stopsley Sharks F.C. are going on development courses and having holidays etc.

Because of the schedule changes in May and June we are committed to providing a fair payment period for you.

May payment-please pay as normal the monthly fee in the first week of the month-we are still receiving payments later in the calendar month, but to clarify, payment needs to be in the first week of every calendar month-for the month ahead. See info prices page for details if unsure or contact me.

June payment-no fee-please ensure you do not pay any amounts for June.

By doing this it will support a fair payment period across May and June where sessions will be cancelled for the above reasons.

Please see below our upcoming dates for your diary. Please note below information will only include details for Monday and Wednesday training.

Any friendly matches or training on Saturdays is only applicable if you’ve been communicated to and added to our WhapsApp group for Saturdays-which more parents will be added in the coming weeks, when teams are selected for the new season etc .

May

Monday 6th no training-bank holiday

Wednesday 8th no training

Monday 13th training as normal

Wednesday 15th no training

Monday 20th training as normal

Wednesday 22nd no training

Monday 27th no training bank holiday

Wednesday 29th no training

June

No training until Monday 17th June, when normal service resumes with training continuing that week on Wednesday 19th also.

*Remember Saturday 15th June Awards/fun day-details on our WhatsApp Latest news group soon.

Last game of the season

May, 4th 2019

After some quick fire games over the past few weeks the Sharks finished their season with a narrow defeat in a friendly match to Someries Youth. Both teams had a 'good go', playing some nice football along the way, chances going both ways in a well contested game.

After the disappointment of an indifferent 2nd half performance the previous week (after playing well the first half) the Sharks were much better organised this week.

Team work was much better with solid performances from all: Ethan, with another important contribution, Matt and Uyi at the back standing strong.

Fletcher, Oscar and Ryan continued this trend, making important tackles, and Daniel, coming in to midfield showed his bravery getting about before being taken off as a precaution.

Taylor and Joel seemed everywhere in the middle, doing their best to make things happen. Olly and Adam shared responsibility up the top, with Olly never shy from having a shot and Adam showing some quick speed getting in to dangerous positions.

With some stand out performances it was Uyi winning coaches player of the match for his excellent contribution at the back and Taylor winning players player of the match after some excellent decision making and runs. Well done both and to all the team for a good performance.

What next? We're updating our schedule for the rest of May and June on Tuesday 7th, so keep an eye out on training schedules. As discussed on Saturday, there will be some changes over the next month or so as we have a mini break and organise our structure for the weeks ahead and the pending new season. So, finalised plans out 7th May-and don't forget to pencil in Junes club fun day and awards for all at Footy School/Stopsley Sharks FC-details will be on our WhatsApp group on Tuesday 7th also ...thanks.

Match Update

March 30, 2019

Another positive display today from the Sharks and an away win! While all players are adapting to instructions it's clear to see more improvements. Well done!

What can be only described as a 'worldy' from Ryan to get things going (amazing goal), other goals from Harvey, Joel and Taylor were also very impressive! Playing against a good side, with their own moments of skill and goals, it was a good test. Ethan had to be on his game in goal-and my word was he!

Ryan and Taylor both showing better understanding in their positions, supporting defence and attack when required. Great stuff.

Matt, again stopping the opposition on numerous occasions, also having some silky runs late in the game.

Fletcher and Daniel coming on in the right and left positions, stopping play and tracking well.

Harvey grew in to the game and confidence was shining after his goal. Swapping position every quarter with Olly, who also grew louder, wanting the ball more and more, making some good runs in the latter stages.

Ryan won his medal for most improved, richly deserved. What a goal, did I mention that already?!!

It was Joel though who cemented the teamwork ethic with his relentless coverage across the pitch-passing, shooting and tackling-with a goal to boot-and winning the player of the match winners medal. Well done and well done all!!!!

*No match next week, keep up to date on our latest news in the coming days!

*please note no results are allowed to be published due to league regulation

April payment and fixtures reminder

March 29, 2019

Hi all, a quick reminder no training tomorrow for the Sharks due to an early away kick off.

There's also no training or match Sat 6th April.

Friendlies are being planned for 13th and 20th to involve different ages/players. I will contact all directly.

Finally, all payments from April is monthly. Please see 12th March news below.

Many thanks.

Match Update

March 23, 2019

Home game Vs Sundon Athletic

The Sharks didn't do a lot wrong last time out-but it took a last kick of the game equaliser from Matt to send the home fans crazy!

The opposition played well, with some nice technical ability on the ball.

The Sharks needed to adapt to a different formation due to the away team opting to play the allowed smaller numbers-but as the game grew older it was clear some stand out performances would support a comeback!

It's worth a special mention that Daniel, Fletcher, Olly and Harvey all had the difficult task of rotating on and off the field, changing positions and adapting to the game regularly. Well done.

The same has to be said for Matt and Joel, both playing in 2 different positions in the match, both playing vital roles in the Sharks goals with Matt showing excellent finishing.

However, without some of the shot stopping from Ethan would we have had a chance to reply and level the game? An outstanding display and most improved medal winner.

Our player of the match, Taylor, was easily having his best game of the season. Supporting the team with defensive runs and tackles while also showing some silky skills in attacking areas to break forward for another go at the opposition-well done!

*Next week 30th March, away to Thunder Dynamo, see you there!

Match Update

March 16, 2019

Away game at Luton Nations

As we're not allowed to publish league match results we're going to add weekly match updates for you to follow our progress :)

2 weeks ago the Sharks's lost by 3 goals against today's opponents-but managed to score 7 today in arguably their best performance of the season.

It's rare all players involved do extremely well-but that certainly was the case today.

Daniel played his most influenced game yet, getting involved regularly with decisive play. Taylor was a constant threat to the opposition, creating opportunities while supporting the defensive role of the right side of the pitch when called upon.

Fletcher came in to deal with a tough opponent and did incredibly well covering-winning most improved played because of his efforts. Well done.

Olly, got his first 2 goals for the Shark's, 1 a thunderbolt of a strike and definitely looked more confident with every passing minute. Ethan had to keep his concentration for large parts of the game, but when called upon, did really well again with collecting the ball and kicks.

Ryan, on the left side, seems to be getting better every game, displaying speed and strength throughout. Matt, was influential in controlling the defence, displaying great energy, strength and passing, capped by a fine goal.

Joel seemed to be everywhere, from taking excellent corners, to setting up goals, tackling and scoring a goal. Another fine display.

Harvey, like all players in the team, still learning positional play, did fantastically well in making the oppositions lives a living nightmare. Great turn of pace and a great couple of strikes earning him a couple of goals and player of the match. Well done.

Scoring 7 goals is great, and even though we conceded goals we still kept to the game plan-work as a team, pass as a team, defend as a team-but go for it when opportunities come your way. It was a great team performance and every player and parent involved should be very proud-well done Shark's!

Rather like a gym membership, the monthly prices shown above are the same regardless of sessions attended. The only exception to this is during long periods we do not have sessions, for example, around end of season break. More details on 2019 calendar coming soon...

Sharks Respond with positive draw

March 9, 2019

A much better team performance this week. Passing/teamwork was the main issue last time out. The Sharks responding well after being a goal down at half time.

Well done Matt (player of the week) and Ryan (most improved player this week)-your medals are well deserved.

After a light morning training session match tactics were discussed prior to the game-all players are now beginning to understand better their positions/roles. It's only our 4th match, so they've done really well to come back after our setback last week. Well done all!
