What is Footy School?
Footy School is a fun football programme with development training schools in Stopsley and Hitchin, for primary school age children. (See schedule a little further below).
Chris, Head of Youth Development at FootySchool, has a keen focus on the Football Associations 4 corner model which covers key development areas to support fun learning and development in football. (Technical, Tactical, Social and Psychological elements).

These sessions are generally built in a bespoke package for small groups of up to 4 players, focusing on the technical development of the players.
Recommended for players wanting extra support to maximise their potential.

We have FA qualified coaches and assistant coaches-all of which are DBS background checked.
All abilities are welcome at FOOTYSCHOOL-you don't need to be in a team to join FootySchool.
Our focus is fun, learning and development.
Further down the road you may want to join one of our Sharks teams or another club. That's up to you.

Some years after starting FootySchool Chris wanted to work with others in the area to have a new club offering more football match opportunities for kids locally. Stopsley Sharks!
In 2018 Chris Dehnert & Ant Cooper founded Stopsley Sharks FC, and, along with many other special people at the club, give up their spare time to have a local grassroots football club that supports the positive fundamentals of the game and lets the kids play:football.
If you wish to play matches with a local grassroots footbll club at some point, now or in the future, please get in contact. (The teams have high demand and are generally full so get on our waiting list should it be something you're thinking about!)

Footy School Philosophy:
Always deliver football sessions in a fun, safe and positive environment.
We will develop all players individual skills and abilities while continually building their confidence, knowledge and understanding, including what teamwork means and how important it is.
Our Training Sessions
Each session at Footy School is 45-55 minutes (depending on age) and always has a focus on dribbling, passing, shooting-including teamwork and match scenarios.
The great thing is, while the kids are having lots of fun with the various sessions provided we are teaching them some fundamentals of the game.
From movement (in and out of possession) or attacking and defensive awareness in changes of team to team possession (transition), the sessions we provide are developing all of these areas naturally. Sessions include;
*Fun skills arrival sessions, which develop in to...
*Fun match scenario sessions, which develop in to...
*Fun 1 v 1's, 2 v 2's, 3 v 3's etc depending on age group inc. mini match 5 v 5 etc.

More About Footy School...
Chris has been involved with a number of football clubs for many years. After spells at youth level with Chelsea and Stuttgart football coaching became Chris's enjoyment and focus after injury.
In the late 90s, as a young player/coach, Chris went on F.A. coaching courses with his college and then the Football Association.
Chris was soon presented with a great opportunity to work full time in the U.S.A. and other coaching roles continued in Europe and on return to England at Luton Town Football Club with the u10s youth side, which had a special player at the time who went to big things and represent England on many occasions.
A number of years later (and a diverse career in various businesses) Chris decided to use his experience, skills and love of football to set up a football programme encompassing all his philosophies from what he's seen in the world of football. Footy School was up and running...
